Happy birthday Anselmo! 27 today. 3 degrees from Harvard, Chicago and Columbia under your belt! Just broken ground for your PhD research in East Africa. Determined to understand how life is lived at the bottom of the pyramid, the daily struggles of our people.
We are proud of you
So can someone please explain to us how does a sleeveless jacket while someone is seated magically turn into a full coat when they stand up? Or these were two different moments!?
If there is a case on anyone, let it be brought before a competent court and tried fairly and impartially. Both the arrest and the treatment of a presumed offender should follow the law, be humane not humiliating and give the constitution, the people and God the dignity and humanness one deserves. Let the evidence be tested. Matthew Bagonza can defend himself and the institution he works for. And let the law take its course.
On the second matter, I want to be equally clear. PACEID is operational and PACEID is lawful and reports to H.E. the President and all our quarterly and annual reports are consistent on what we have achieved and the ideas we have brought forward for our country, its entrepreneurs and exports sector.
We were commissioned on 16 March 2022. Institutions begin through a process and, if a mandate is ever changed, that too must happen through a due process. An anonymous message on social media is not that process.
We encourage all International partners, those who hold export orders, our global trade representatives in several countries, our logistics partners, those financing value chains in the 13 products, to have peace and keep all due activities as usual
Nothing as confusing as this digital plates issue. I sought clarity from @itmsug through @turyarugayostev to understand this process. I was called to visit their factory in Kyambogo this morning. And here’s a few video snippets captured on my phone.

#Uganda: UN Human Rights Chief @volker_turk denounces the ongoing crackdown on dissent, erosion of the rule of law, increased military involvement in civilian institutions, and shrinking civic space.
He urges the Government to uphold the separation of powers and the rule of law, including by preventing military interference in civil institutions.

Can Uganda build a $500 billion economy if people are afraid to speak? | Odrek Rwabwogo
Fear disables citizens.
Silence weakens institutions.
Suppressed opinion kills national confidence.
We grow by listening, talking to each other, and exercising restraint.
Uganda must keep communicating freely…

Permanent residents planning a trip outside of Canada: Make sure you travel with a valid permanent resident (PR) card. You'll need to show it when you come back to Canada. https://t.co/T3Xqu1ZTRP
Museveni’s son said he is very proud of the pain and hurt he is inflicting on former Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago. He must be very proud of himself, seeing this video. But as the saying goes, no one is tall enough to see the future. One day, the tables will turn and all these atrocities will be accounted for, one by one.
To the public,
I'm okay with my dismissal. Let this be a reminder: standing for truth takes courage, and their behavior doesn't define our journey. Let it empower you to keep pushing forward, speaking up, and fighting for what's right. Don't let fear hold you back . let it fuel your passion for justice. Rise above the noise and keep shining! 💪 #TruthUnites #KeepPushing"
I just wrote to PM @MarkJCarney Ministers @gary_srp & @LenaMetlegeDiab demanding that Bill C-2 be rescinded. This law gives dangerous unchecked powers to the government to deport people, including permanent residents and attacks refugees. Add your name: https://t.co/3TRwrRZhQ4
#UPDATE: MARTHA KARUA DEPORTED FROM TANZANIA
People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua has confirmed her deportation from Tanzania, sharing on X, "Deportation complete! On board @KQSupport flight No 485 for Nairobi."
The Kenyan politician, along with human rights defenders and lawyers Lynn Ngugi and Gloria Kimani, was detained earlier at Julius Nyerere International Airport while en route to observe the court case of Tanzanian opposition leader Tundu Lissu, who is facing treason charges.
Despite these criminals trying to ensure journalists do not capture the state of comrade Eddie Mutwe, you can see him limping and unable to walk on his own. We have been told that his head and feet are swollen. He was badly beaten. He is unable to walk unaided. He is in a pathetic state. And yet, when he was abducted, he was very healthy. This is what Museveni's son did to him! Instead of releasing him to get treatment, they rushed him to a court and a judicial officer shamelessly remanded him.
