Playing @Obsidian's #Pentiment as a medievalist has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
So I wrote 3500 words on illuminated manuscripts, the societal biases of historical memory and the many-layered world(s) of Pentiment ๐

Finally, here's the first part in a small series of articles exploring the darker side of Baldur's Gate 3! ๐
For this one, I played devil's advocate for Lady Shar and her cult and asked myself: Why are they like that, exactly?

The fucking state of this app. Returning to a whole bunch of bot follows and some otaku nazi calling me a subhuman for no apparent reason.
Thanks Elon, please get in one of your rockets and shoot yourself into the nearest black hole you fucking embarrassment.

It's been a while, but I'm back and writing again! Next up in my game cosmology series: a deep-dive into the cosmological struggles of Baldur's Gate 3 and Lady Shar's war against light and existence itself.
Games like #BG3 allow us to live out impossible fantasies such as pursuing several polyamorous relationship while also working a full-time job as freelancer
So, there's this thing I've poured my heart and soul into writing for the past couple of years...

Sarcasm aside: given our looong tradition of using moral panics and false accusations of evil magic to persecute vulnerable groups, these kinds of people are actually a good illustration of why studying the place of magic, witchcraft and the occult is so important
How weird how the same wilfully illiterate reactionaries who peddle conspiracy theories about demonic forces threatening society, scapegoat vulnerable groups & parrot the same few conservative talking points like invocations would mock the idea of studying the history of magic ๐
100 hours into #BG3, one of the things I've been enjoying the most are its incredibly moody and detailed interior and subterranean spaces, its temples and ruins.
They really manage to capture the atmosphere of the Infinity Engine worlds in a way no other recent CRPG did.
