❤️ Watch Sir Alex Ferguson addressing his players in the Manchester United dressing room.
This was a manager who demanded the highest standards from his players and refused to accept anything less.
🗣️ Sir Alex Ferguson:“The other thing is some of the passing is scratchy. Get the passing fluid. Good touching the ball. You don't always need to pass it first time. You tried it in the ones that took the 15, 20 minutes and you lost it. Take a touch in the ball.”
“No easing up. Come on now. Listen. Don't let yourselves down here now. Don't even attempt it.”
44 years ago, Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" was released as a single.
His first single after leaving Motown, cut in Belgium. Biographer David Ritz blurted that Gaye needed “sexual healing” after seeing his porn stash; Gaye told him to write it down.
Gary Coleman was paid $70,000 an episode as a teenager. In his 30s, he worked as a security guard. The people who had managed his money were his own parents.
In the video below, Coleman says that even after the lawsuit, he still doesn't know where $18 million went.
He was the star of Diff'rent Strokes. In the first season he got $1,500 an episode.
His parents were his personal managers and, ABC News reported, took the biggest cut, 20%. California law said 25% of his income had to be set aside for his future. ABC reported that even that disappeared.
"I kept getting told, don't spend so much," Coleman said. "Everybody wanted a piece of me."
In 1989, at 21, he cut them off and sued his parents and his former business adviser. That same year, his mother asked a court to take control of his finances, saying he couldn't handle his own affairs.
His father said he was not a bookkeeper: "All we did was sign documents and gave our approval."
In 1993 a judge ruled that his parents and the adviser had skimmed some of his earnings and awarded him nearly $1.3 million. Six years later Coleman filed for bankruptcy.
Did his parents rob him, or were they ordinary people in over their heads with money they never understood?
Wicknell Chivayo was moving ruthlessly: Back in early 2024, the Zimbabwe Defence Industries had already vetted a legitimate supplier for auxiliary ammunition and equipment. The quote was a clean US$20 million. Treasury sat on the payment for a while, and then surprisingly the same request suddenly reappeared, but now with Chivayo as the lead supplier. The price for the exact same goods? It jumps straight to $69 million. Just like magic.
In the same year, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), which is the central bank of Zimbabwe, needed an IT systems upgrade. A capable company won the tender fairly at $10 million. Then, without much explanation, the contract got cancelled. The original winner was reportedly pressured to drop their legal challenge after being assured a new tender would be issued. When that “new” tender finally dropped in mid-2024, Chivayo walked away with it at $50 million, five times the original price. More interesting is that the same experts who had quoted $10 million were quietly brought back as subcontractors to do the actual work for their original fee, while Chivayo kept the $40 million markup for himself.
Just two deals alone and Chivayo siphoned off roughly $89 million in pure profit from the Zimbabwean taxpayers' public coffers.
At the face of a struggling nation, Chivayo, who enjoyed extreme state powers, was spending millions buying cars as gifts. He spent $750,000 on a Bentley, and early this year he was spending $10,000 an hour renting a Gulfstream private jet for his travels. Despite all that lavish spending, he barely touched even 1% of the money he made from those two contracts.
To illustrate Man City's aggressive, intimidatory approach to journalists asking Qs, here's a piece from last Dec, paywalled then, now free. Docs & legal letters show process.

I still can’t believe this video is real.
I’ve never turned on a manager this quickly before because the main issue at this club isn’t the manager but this is honestly pure INCOMPETENCE.
It’s a complete waste of everyone’s time…
Roy Keane in 2019: "These players threw Mourinho under the bus. They'll do the same to Ole. Leopards don't change their spots. Too many bluffers, to get Man Utd back to the top."
Amorim is the only one players didn't down tools under. Why? Carrick next?
