@WilliamTaborDDS@SophiaKianni And I’m sure you realize for decades the United States has exported billions and billions of tons of plastic to Asia claiming it was being recycled, but knowing full well it was being burned or dumped.

@MichaelACT123@PoeBrianL@PGDynes The Aletsch Glacier is – like most glaciers in the world today – a retreating glacier. As of 2016, since 1980 it lost 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi) of its length, since 1870 3.2 kilometres (2.0 mi), and lost also more than 300 metres (980 ft) of its thickness. https://t.co/4qUGu1VYYj
@Jeramiah_Jordan @curious_founder Try pumped storage hydropower (PSH). The NYPA been using that technology in Lewiston, NY for over 60 years to store power during off peak demand periods (no batteries required).

Thanks for this info. My 6th grade @TMMC students are learning how human activity indirectly impacts marine mammals. During the last decade Guadalupe fur seals are increasingly suffering from malnutrition because warming ocean waters are pushing fish farther off the coast.
A little rain couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the @EdmsToros students today when we visited the Marine Mammal Center @TMMC. They learned how a neurotoxin (dominic acid) affects both marine life and humans. We all need to be mindful stewards to keep our oceans healthy.
A small fraction of the students from @MtDiabloUSD will visit the Marine Mammal Center @TMMC this week thanks in no small part to public donations. The kids loved the experience and learned so much.
@xr_cambridge It’s far worse than you think. The ocean food chain is only the beginning. Between 50-75% of the oxygen on Earth of produced by ocean plants (mostly phytoplankton). If they die, there won’t be enough oxygen for most animals to survive. ☠️
@MikeDUnderhill@RBReich@RexChapman Ok, back in 1978 that was mostly true.
The world was a much different place. Today however, there is a lot more to inflation than just M1.
@rick1381@AOC I have a daughter too and the best answer I can give you is to finish passing the ERA because it’s not subject to judicial review.

During nesting season, keep your outdoor lights off, as the hatchlings use the light of the moon to guide them back to the ocean. Artificial light can confuse them and send them in the wrong direction. https://t.co/HaCALdFSxi #OceanAndCoasts50

Trevor Noah gets serious at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, remarking on what a ‘blessing’ it is in the U.S. to be able to ‘seek the truth and speak the truth,’ in comparison to other countries around the world
@briantylercohen The system has had a problem for YEARS! When my daughter toured a local private college about 10 yrs ago the 1st place our tour guide took us was the financial aid office so the parents and the students could BOTH apply for loans. We need to wipe the slate clean and start again!
@TMMC My Ocean Ambassadors students on the mainland learned a LOT about the many problems marine mammals of the E. Pacific face and would like to meet island students to share info and help find solutions to our common problems.
Some of the “Call to Conserve” projects my student are doing for @TMMC Ocean Ambassadors program. They are excited to present their ideas about how to solve conservation issues affecting our marine mammals in the Pacific. 🦭🐬
@TMMC I’m a mainland teacher whose students would love to compare notes with island students about what we learned of the many conservation challenges facing marine mammals along the pacific coast.
