We are continuing the work to make sure the TTC is safe for everyone.
This morning, I joined Councillor Shelley Carroll and TTC CEO Rick Leary to announce that the City of Toronto and the TTC are partnering with community wellbeing experts at LOFT Community Services to better respond to the needs of vulnerable people on Toronto’s transit system.
Through LOFT and the City’s Multi-Disciplinary Outreach Team (M-DOT) program, individuals requiring more complex and longer-term supports will now have access to case workers and health care professionals, including registered nurses.
This will ensure people are receiving the health and social supports they need long after crisis de-escalation and emergency response are complete.
This new partnership was funded in the City's 2023 budget and expands the City-funded M-DOT service, growing the specialized team of providers from various organizations that delivers services to the most vulnerable individuals.
Scarborough has showed up and showed out! Thanks to everyone's tremendous support, we have hit the $55k mark for SHN ZOO DAY! In just a few weeks we have had 93 teams, over 800 registrations, and 400 donations! #LoveScarborough
To support businesses in Scarborough impacted by transit construction, the Scarborough Business Association will receive $100K in funding in this year's @cityoftoronto budget. Looking forward to working together for Scarborough.
