I was a healthy professional rock climber. life was good. Two years ago MECFS took my life away, and switched it to an unrecognizable, never ending nightmare #meawarenesshour
A little while back I had a series of conversations with @annasale for the @deathsexmoney podcast. We talked about life with #mecfs And it felt good to tell my story. Link in bio. Poignant artwork by @cari_guevara
@FndPortal I was dx’d with conversion disorder. It has not led to any effective treatment, and I strongly disagree with the dx, but I like to keep an open mind. Curious to try and understand the FND world a little better
@karenlubell@jenbrea When I was told this about MECFS patients, I was glad to inform my doctor that I literally failed out of college 😂 means and privilege, however, are critical for complex patients to receive appropriate dx and treatment
My old life, before I got sick, feels like a distant shore, now far beyond the horizon. The only familiar landmarks now are those I’ve come to know thru illness: constant discomfort, malaise, and a yearning to be free and healthy #meawarenesshour
@jenbrea I have a conversion disorder dx. It has NOT lead to effective treatment (yet? I like to keep an open mind 🤷♂️). To be fair, neither has my MECFS dx, other than connecting me with like patients. a diagnosis that does not lead to effective treatment is not good enough
ME/CFS is terrifying. It is a condition with so little hope. Hanging 2000 feet off the ground from my fingertips by comparison seems like a day at the spa, compared to a day in the life with ME. This needs to change #meawarenesshour
@jenbrea Dr Bateman in SLC told me she has all her mecfs patients get an mri to rule out chiari. It’s unfortunate that CCI (sometimes) requires such specialized diagnostics, as run of the mill imaging has failed to dx many of us with cervical instability

My favorite classes in med school ranked: 1.) Anatomy 2.) Pharmacology 3.) Cardiology 4.) Neuro/psych 5.) How to lie to the masses to propagate mind control through vaccines and microchips 6.) Nephrology 7.) Infectious disease
@_ukactive@CMO_England This is false. With Myalgic Encephalomyelitis for instance, even small amounts of exercise can cause devastating, and potentially irreversible worsening of symptoms. Prof Chris Whitty needs to go back to school
@livingwithmcas My me/cfs went into remission for three days after an upper cervical chiropractic manipulation. It felt like a miracle. It did not however, have any lasting benefits, but it’s how I learned that my neck was ground zero for my debilitating condition
