@AmandaHeldOpelt i could be wrong, but i’m guessing you were married as well? single women are seen as sexual options in the christian world in a way that married women aren’t. just another perspective.
@jsparkblog my suggestion is don’t try to live the same life. let this be your whole life for awhile, and know there is some feelings of loss to that (for everyone - including the toddler), but you are forming something new together.
peace to you all! and celebrating with you ❤️
@sean_muldowney i think most of those people truly have not had an encounter with Jesus, but rather than be disgusted with them, perhaps the theologians might grieve that and take up the work of bringing the beauty of Jesus to people and changing how they understand the gospel.
@matthewkaemingk we can’t be confused by students who are uninterested in writing about the poor when we are asking them to pay $65K-85K for our instruction. (which is what a theology degree costs at fuller)
By the way, stay tuned for my most recent book (co-edited) coming in the coming months entitled, Reparations and the Theological Disciplines: Prophetic Voices for Remembrance, Reckoning, and Repair. It's a powerful resource from scholars and practitioners.
@pastor_plays@erichoke i just think there's a difference between a vocation being fulfilling and seeking to fill a void. that may sound like a semantic difference to some, but if you've been on the receiving end of the 2nd, you know the difference.
