@GautamGambhir has been appointed head coach of India's cricket team. He will bring a completely different personality than Rahul Dravid. It's like chalk and cheese.

5 observations from my side-

1) India's superstar culture may take a backseat or become less visible. Gambhir's appointment will not completely eliminate it, but it will be a welcome relief.

2) Gambhir is hyper-competitive. He will take all the matches seriously, and there will be no dead rubbers or dead series. He will not take the so-called weak teams lightly. Stat padding will be discouraged.

3) Like Dravid, meritocracy will also precede other things during Gambhir's tenure. Fitness will be paramount.

4) Gambhir will take a bullet for his team. He is built that way. He will face the tough situations head-on and let the team take all the glory in good times.

5) He is a man of impeccable character, unmatched integrity and honesty that scares ordinary people. He wears his heart on his sleeve.

I wanted to write a small tribute to the greatest white-ball bowler India has ever produced, probably among the top 3 across teams(and mind you, his red-ball career is still unravelling). The last point here is interesting😀. @Jaspritbumrah93

1)Bumrah can make the ball talk. Literally. No kidding.
2)He is a mystery pacer (You have heard about mystery spinners before).
3)He could have walked into any white-ball team in any generation and led their attack.
4)His impact in matches is unmatched. People will have careers with more matches and wickets, but his wickets and spells help you win matches and championships. It's always the silverware. That's all that matters.
5) He has true leadership qualities. When another bowler bowls with him, they raise their game and the team benefits.
6) His self-belief is out of this world. People commented about his difficult bowling action and his short run-up. He had injuries, but he is destined for greatness. You can't keep such a man down for long.
7)I have never found him panicking, whatever the challenge, and I have been watching cricket for 30 years. This speaks volumes about his temperament.
8)He has all the balls possible in cricket in his armoury, be it inswing, outswing, cutters, bouncers, slower ones, dippers, yorkers, slow bouncers, or length balls. He can hit 145kmph with ease, which makes him a "Jack of all trades, Master of all."
9)He can read batters's minds and starts thinking like them.
10) Lastly, he is a national treasure; we should use him judiciously. They don't make them like him anymore.
11)I have a ball signed by him with my name, which I got 9 years ago, and there were more seasoned players in that gathering. Somehow, I knew all the above points would happen back then😉❤️
