What’s happening is that boundaries are being created for what is acceptable critique of Israel that at face value seems to embrace majority opinion but actually is trying to quell it and the ensuing pressure to punish Israel. It also demands that Israeli propaganda - and the legitimacy of Israel and its claims - be accepted.

People have pointed to the fuller context of this clip as though it morally mitigates the literal both sides'ing of a genocide and rendering of Israelis as just products of trauma. This is very much a negation of reality and, at best, a liberal zionist talking point that coddles the genocidaires and makes Israelis/Jewish people perpetual victims.

The Israelis are not slaughtering Palestinians because they're traumatized from the Holocaust - we have many populations who've experienced genocide (which include concentration camps, rape of women, significant loss of total population, loss of language, etc) who are not incinerating entire families.
