This morning, they designated George Valera for assignment.
I know he has holes in his swing. I still don’t get it.
Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul says $200 million isn't as much money as athletes think
"I got guys, 22, making $200 million over the next four or five years. I'm constantly telling them that's not a lot of money based upon where you're starting, because you're starting from zero"
"How do we understand how to compound that. Everyone's not going to play into their 40s. They're done when they're 33. They're paying a 51–55% tax"
"Not to mention jeans today, the ones they want that they're buying in excess, which they probably don't really need, cost $2,000"
"No athlete can afford to fly private all the time, yet we see so many athletes on Instagram flying private"
"I fly Delta. I cannot afford to fly private, and that's okay with me. I'm just trying to get where I'm trying to go to make the money. I'm not trying to spend the money"
"The times I do fly private, you will never see it on Instagram because it's not for show"
Brian Windhorst suggests Luka Doncic went to Spain for other reasons besides treatment on his hamstring
“I’ve heard of going to Germany, I’ve never heard of going to Spain… When they sent him overseas that was like you’re not going to be doing anything for a few weeks anyways, go ahead to Europe because you came back 48 hours after your child was born.”

In 125 seasons of Cleveland baseball, one man stands alone atop the leaderboard of games played. 🐐
With five innings completed, José Ramírez is the only active player to currently lead a franchise in games played.

The Guardians are going medieval in 2026. They have a new celebratory home run prop, a knight's helmet, and a new postgame ritual that involves an actual sword.
So far, ye olde gimmicks have been used exclusively on the noble rookie Chase DeLauter.

Some Tanner Bibee post game quotes on his exit due to right shoulder inflammation:
“I feel pretty good, obviously frustrated. But, I mean, I feel like I just didn't feel great on the mound during those warm ups, but a little better, so.”
“It was kind of off and on the entire time, and I think just kind of got to a point where… I felt like I couldn't really battle through it and give my best stuff. So, I mean, I feel like it got to a point where I didn't want to hurt myself or hurt the team in turn”
“I had all my tests in there, and I think I was strong in a good majority of them. So I feel like it's just… when I wake up tomorrow, see how it feels, if it feels worse or feels better.”

On Opening Day, a story about José Ramírez, a special tattoo, Chuck E. Cheese, a "f---ing martian" and the start of another season.
José has a new contract. He'll have a statue.
“I just hope the statue has a big, fat (championship) ring on his finger."

🚨 JUST IN: President Trump is formally TERMINATING the Obama-era rules that forced car makers into putting the infamous "START-STOP" into vehicles
The start-stop would stay on no matter WHAT, turning the car off at lights and frustrating Americans. It also wore down the car
People had to manually disable it every time they got inside
GOOD RIDDANCE!
Michael Jackson's SuperBowl halftime in 1993 broke record for being the first show to have more viewers than the SuperBowl itself.
He was the only act in history where NFL offered to pay the artist, but it went to his charity at the time 'Heal LA' which helped struggling youth.
Jose Ramirez breaks silence on signing below market extension from Guardians;
(Translation by Master Flip)
That was ultimately my decision, to take the extension. We went through a year and a half of negotiations, and when I finally signed, I got a significant salary bump. I knew it wasn’t fully reflective of my market value, and plenty of people made sure to point that out. But I’m a veteran, I understand how the game works.
Cleveland is a small market team, and they simply can’t pay me what I could command on the open market. So I told them, Let’s find a fair agreement that works for both sides.
I spoke directly with the GM. There were real trade discussions and offers from other teams willing to extend me at my full asking price, but my heart was set on staying in Cleveland. First and foremost, my children were born here. My wife feels comfortable in Cleveland and so do I. I owe this city a lot.
Since the day I arrived, I’ve never once been booed by these fans. I’ve seen how crowds in other stadiums treat players when results don’t come quickly, and that’s never happened here.
