1. The logistics of moving peaks and troughs of people that cars will never solve.

2. There are also logistics of fleet maintanence. It is cheaper to maintain a fleet of hundreds of busses rather than the equivalent cars to support the ratio of people.

Even on an automated route, the fleets would be not be distributed correctly and even if you could solve that the migration from one critical route to another by the fleet would be congestionx100
