🔋Transactions of used battery electric vehicles (BEVs) grew by 32.0% to 86,943 units, as nearly one in 23 buyers (4.3%) made the switch, up from around one in 30 last year.
⚡️This is the result of sustained investment by manufacturers into new models, enabling a massive choice of new zero emission vehicles in every segment – supported by substantial discounts and government incentives – which are filtering into the used market in ever greater numbers.

🚨FACTCHECK!!🚨
The claim: EV sales in UK declined for 2nd consecutive month
The reality: data from @SMMT shows that EV sales increased by 3% in February, and accounted for 24% of new cars sold
3% growth not amazing, but certainly not a decline
I see Farage is off to Mar-a-Lago to talk down Britain and suck up to Trump.
There's nothing patriotic about cheering on a foreign leader whose illegal war is sending British families’ energy bills through the roof.
@EVPuzzle You didn't think we would get away with it indefinitely😂 I've had 6 years and 4 EVs worth of tax free driving. You've had a bit more with your original Kona. Some ICE rates are also going through the roof which is only a good thing.
"Petrol stations set to stop selling diesel fuel by 2030"
Very interesting analysis from @New_AutoMotive
All being driven by the rapid decline in diesel car sales
While there are 15.5m diesels on the UK's roads today, but will only be 250k by 2035

@foxxmetamatic@foxxmetamedia I caught the end of Craig's conversation and wondered if I'd been hearing things. Now I know. Thanks Martin & Steve, Happy Christmas
Delighted to read this press release from @OctopusEnergy that it will be passing on the full Budget energy cuts to all customers including those on fixes, by an (all other things remaining equal) price reduction for all on 1 April.
This is exactly what I've been calling for, lobbying govt for (and Octopus boss Greg and I have chatted about) and I this first move by Octopus leads all other firms to come out and follow suit.
If not there will be a huge lack of transparency (eg firms could launch a fix in jan and say we've factored in the April cuts, but there's no way to tell). Here's its release.

Octopus Energy to pass Autumn Budget savings straight to customers – automatically
-All variable and fixed tariffs will be reduced from 1st April to reflect policy changes
- Customers don’t have to do anything – changes will automatically be applied
- Octopus urges other suppliers to follow suit to help ease rising energy costs
London, 12th December 2025 – Octopus Energy today confirmed it will pass on the changes from the Autumn Budget 2025 to customers, cutting energy bills from 1st April 2026.
Octopus is the first major energy supplier to guarantee these reductions will be applied automatically across all existing and new fixed and variable tariffs – customers don’t need to lift a finger.
The Autumn Budget policy cuts will remove certain costs from energy bills from April 1st, reducing a typical yearly bill by around £134, relative to what they would otherwise be.
Octopus is calling on other energy suppliers to do the same and ensure that customers benefit transparently. The move is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to making energy simpler, fairer, and more affordable.
Greg Jackson, CEO and Founder of Octopus Energy, said: “Octopus has long called for cuts in policy costs to help bring bills down, so we are delighted to see the government taking action.
“These changes will bring a welcome relief to customers, and we’ll pass them through on all of our tariffs as soon as they kick in, so no one misses out.
“Octopus customers can rest easy – we’ll do it all automatically. We hope other suppliers will follow our lead so everyone can benefit.”
@sarah_go_green as well. Problem with them is they softwate update them into oblivion with bloatware to the point you have to stop using them. Roku is simpler and better.
@sarah_go_green Too many even youngsters i know still get ripped off by Sky packages. I’ve used Roku sticks for the last 7 years to access every single paid channel i needed. Problem with smart TVs is they don’t always get updated and you lose access to channels. I’ve also had Firesticks…
