One of the best parts of the job is when former @TrafalgarPS Ss return & share their successes. Thrilled to have this kiddo. (in gr. 11) swing by to show me he is now a qualified welder. Another shared his 98% math grade, the other their plan to go into esthetics #TVDSB@TVDSB
It's hard to tell from these stills how much excitement and pride these coders had hooking up leds to the micro:bits, and then saying:"Wait! What if I can make two go?"The"what if's"and "I have an IDEA's..." are what I live. @tvdsbmathk8@TVDSB@microbit_edu@CCCarrothersPS
As students are beginning to learn about converting fractions to decimals, the number tiles on Polypad can be helpful in providing some concrete representations.

@howie_hua So, this is a timed, multiplication facts drill and kill? I mean, the right students would love this, but only if they already knew these basic math facts. Otherwise, we could play wall ball for free🥳.
@MathWaite interesting! i wonder how much of this is reversible in Elementary. We also need to shift assessment practices so when they get to secondary, your graph will hopefully look different!
@MathWaite @MrsSStephenson@pgliljedahl this is something we take time to build and modify in elementary, even with my gr.1/2's. The student voice is key and they fact that it can be re-visited and altered as needed, makes it a living document.

@Mathgarden@DDSBSchools@DDSB_712Math @DunbartonDHS I think another issue is how Evaluation is 5%Observations and 5%Conversations and the other 90% is Product( with 10% of this counting Practice Quizzes?). Triangulation of data respects ALL three methods of confirming Student learning has happened. Good luck
