ETH Zurich recently taught a robotic hand to walk: https://t.co/u5u7kQ955a
Its clever design & fluid motion reminded us of another walking hand: Thing from The Addams Family.

Sound made visible. Chladni patterns turn vibrations into geometry as particles gather along still lines on a vibrating surface.
If we are all vibrations, what patterns are we creating?
Scientists are exploring a natural way to remove microplastics from water
What if a tree could help tackle one of the world’s growing pollution problems?
Researchers are studying *Moringa oleifera*, commonly known as the moringa tree, to explore its potential for water purification.
Laboratory research suggests that materials derived from moringa may help attract and separate suspended particles from water. Scientists are investigating whether these natural properties could also help remove microplastics.
Some laboratory tests have reported removal rates of up to 98%, but this figure does not mean moringa can remove 98% of microplastics from all drinking water.
Why is this important?
Moringa is already being investigated for its potential use in water treatment. As a renewable biological resource, it could offer an additional approach to developing more sustainable filtration methods.
However, further research is needed to establish its effectiveness against different types of microplastics and determine whether the treated water is safe to drink.
Could a natural material from a tree become part of the future of water purification?

Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s… A flying black triangle swooping through a canyon and spooking multiple federal agents? The U.S. government’s latest “UFO files” release includes this odd report, and more.
https://t.co/HthJu7vxMx
Federal agents encountered a large, triangular aircraft earlier this year that zoomed through the sky from a standstill while making no noise or giving off any exhaust, according to new documents released by the Pentagon. https://t.co/tBXZmpoe7C
What were mysterious black, triangular craft doing over U.S. military sites? Newly released Pentagon UFO files detail the sightings, and former defense analyst Marik von Rennenkampff says the speed of disclosure is “pretty extraordinary.” @lauraingle
Patterns reveal themselves in the spaces between forms.
Merging and overlapping show how sets combine while isolation and opposite mark clear boundaries. Hierarchy and structure organize nodes into ordered graphs, and connections link them into networks.
Influence and spreading radiate outward from a center, while attraction and concentration pull inward. Chaos scatters without direction; the circle and whole restore unity.
Simple shapes encode the logic of systems.
Nature writes in perfect six-fold symmetry.
Each petal tip marks a vertex of a regular hexagon. Two interlocking equilateral triangles then form a hexagram whose points land exactly on those tips, all contained by a single circumcircle.
The same construction appears across species: the 60-degree angles of hexagonal packing, the radial lines that bisect opposite petals, and the nested stars that emerge when every second vertex is joined.
What looks like decoration is simply the inevitable geometry of six equal arcs around a center.
The X-ray pattern that revealed the double helix is pure Fourier math.
The layer-line spacing equals 1/pitch. For B-DNA the pitch is 3.4 nm, giving 10 base pairs per turn, so the fourth layer line vanishes because the two strands are offset by 3/8 of a pitch.
Intensity along each layer line is modulated by Bessel functions J_n(2π R r), where n is the order set by the helical symmetry and r is the radius of the backbone. The classic X-shape is the geometric signature of that continuous helix projected into reciprocal space.
One pattern, one transform, the structure of life.
