Hasan Piker: “All of these Fox News guys are like I can’t believe this is what Graham Platner was doing. Pete Hegseth was literally your co-worker and was a notorious drunk rapist. I feel like I’m losing my mind, the standards are so out of wack. We just never look at Republicans. They can do whatever the fuck they want. They can literally murder, cheat, steal, rape”
Landlord: Rent has gone up.
Businesses: That’s a natural part of doing business.

Businesses: Whoa, whoa... Let’s not get unreasonable here.
4/ I have an idea for the Prime Minister: why don’t we pull a Norway?
Let’s put a windfall tax on oil and gas companies that are projected to make $90B in profits this year because of Trump’s illegal war in Iran. Then, let’s use that money to fill up the Sovereign Wealth fund — and invest in projects that benefit Canadians instead of a few wealthy investors and CEOs.
1/ Today’s spring economic statement fails to meet the moment at a time when Canadians are getting crushed by the rising cost of everything.
While it was sold by the government as a plan to address affordability, the update contains virtually no new measures to bring down the cost of living — it tinkers around the edges and re-announces existing initiatives.
Meanwhile, there’s not a single new measure to bring in new revenue by taxing excessive corporate profits.
Hasan Piker: “If you steal from the poor, you become rich. If you steal from the wealthy, you go to prison. There’s only one direction where you can do unlimited theft. Wage theft is the most consequential amount of theft that takes place in the United States of America”
In 2011, the Canucks went to the Stanley Cup Finals. In 2014, they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
Mike Gillis went to ownership with a gameplan - he had deals lined up to acquire 2 first round picks for Ryan Kesler (to ANA) and a first round pick for Alex Burrows (to PHI). Vancouver would have had 4 first round picks in the 2014 draft.
Both players were longtime Canucks and part of the group that brought them to the finals in 2011.
Ownership rejected his plan. Then he was fired.
Kesler was ultimately traded to Anaheim that year for a 1st round pick, Luca Sbisa, and Nick Bonino. Alex Burrows stayed with the team for another 3 seasons.
They wouldn't make the playoffs again until 2020.

Since when did we as a society decide that companies are untouchable, pristine vessels who should not be inconvenienced and have a right to make as much money as possible through any means possible. That’s how we get grocery stores consistently ripping us off
The interviewer can't wrap his head around the concept of not doing whatever the oil and gas sector wants and actually making them take a hit for a change
