On Saturday, May 30th, I had the honor of witnessing the leadership transition ceremonies of the Rotary Clubs of #Katakwi, @RotarySoroti , @RCSerere , @RCNgora , and #Kumi. This engagement came in addition to my responsibilities as Assistant Governor Elect for the area and Regional Membership Support Officer for Eastern Uganda.
The day was marked by celebration, reflection, and renewal of commitment to service. Beyond the formalities of leadership handover, what stood out most was the resilience, dedication, and energy demonstrated by the members of these clubs. These are Rotary clubs operating in underserved communities, particularly across the Teso and Karamoja sub-regions, where the need for impactful service is both visible and deeply felt.
Despite the contextual challenges, the spirit within these clubs remains strong. I observed a clear sense of purpose among members, driven by a shared commitment to community transformation through Rotary’s ideals of Service Above Self. The enthusiasm displayed by incoming and outgoing leadership alike reflected a continuity of vision and a determination to strengthen Rotary’s presence and impact in the region.
This experience also served as a personal reminder of my own Rotary journey with the @RotaryClubAbim . It reaffirmed my belief that with intentional focus, we can strengthen membership engagement, drive growth, support club extension, and deepen meaningful community service even in the most resource-constrained environments.
I extend my sincere congratulations to all the incoming presidents upon their installation. I wish them success, wisdom, and strength as they lead their respective clubs into the new Rotary year. May their leadership bring renewed energy, stronger membership, and greater impact in the communities they serve. Viva @rotaryd9213 , #RotaryEyamba, #RotaryKonyo

During my tour of service, I visited Bulondo Kabbabi C/U Primary School in Wakiso

A small handwritten letter from a pupil stopped me in my tracks: “You have helped us control diseases related to contaminated water.”

That is what service looks like. Real children. Real relief. Real hope.

Yet even as we celebrate this impact. Latrines built and clean water flowing the journey is not complete.

The girls here still need a safe, dignified changing room during their menstrual periods. Too many miss school for something natural. That must change.

To my fellow Rotarians and friends of @Rotary we have done much, but much more is still possible when we choose to care again and again.

Let us return here together and finish this story with dignity for every girl.

Several MPs in the 12th @Parliament_Ug were forced to stand or sit in the gallery during a May 28 plenary session due to shortage of seats in the chambers.
The chamber, built for about 80 members, now squeezes in over 500 lawmakers. Relief remains stalled as the construction of the new, spacious Shs200 billion parliamentary chambers faces persistent delays and missed deadlines.
