This is amazing. What an incredible achievement. Chess ♟️ club starts again this week @RHSSuffolk with the amazing Mr C and a second giant chess set outside @BlakeHouseRHS to get some practice in! 🙌
WFM Bodhana Sivanandan, a remarkable young talent who picked up chess during the pandemic, has quickly risen to become one of England’s top players. Her record-breaking performances have stunned the chess world, making headlines globally. Last year, she became England’s first World Youth Chess Champion in 25 years, winning a historic triple gold medal with a perfect 33/33 score. She followed this up by clinching the women’s prize at the European Women’s Blitz Championship, where she impressively defeated an IM and drew against a GM.
This year, Sivanandan’s meteoric rise continued as she gained 327 rating points, reaching 2185 and securing her spot as the world’s second-highest-rated player under nine. Recently earning the WFM title, she is now on the verge of becoming the youngest ever to earn a WIM norm.
In July 2024, she was selected for England’s women’s team for the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary, making her likely the youngest ever to represent England in any international sporting competition, as reported by The Guardian.
Yesterday, she visited the Clash of Blames, where she had the chance to play with legends Vladimir Kramnik and Jose Martinez!

Maths, Biology and Chemistry was the most popular combination of three A levels in 2024, with 18720 taking all three (6.1% of the cohort). However, 60.6% of those taking Maths took it alongside something other than Biology or Chemistry (or maybe just on its own)

The flag is up for another #ROYMUN. Delighted to see that maths played a part in the ‘informal debate’ about those 🧜 merfolk. So proud of my further mathmos for dispatching the unsolvable problem posed quizteam! 🤔 @RHSSuffolk@RHS_MUN@RHS_Creativity
Ooh. I wonder if the RHS ground-staff team will create massive Noughts and Crosses boards for us to go with the huge ♟️ set! @BlakeHouseRHS we could have one on the green!!! @RHSSuffolk@RHSSport
This Noughts & Crosses mat mysteriously appeared on the local high street recently.
Who went first, O or X, and what was the order of moves if they played sensibly?
