@SkullbombRaging @StopKilingGames Haha no worries :) English is also not my mothers tongue so that also adds a difficulty layer to it XD
You where right for calling it out because some of those wackjobs could take it seriously.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@SkullbombRaging @StopKilingGames Yes of course, I did not mean it literally. I despise that kind of behavior too.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@GrumpyVeryMuch @naomibrockwell Graphene works and Jolla Phone too :)

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@RetroMemoriesHQ Yes I do, not only DOS but on Win98 too

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@nym True, I also like the analogy it is like banning roads because criminals might use them.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@Phate_Dragon @accursedfarms This has nothing to do with SKG, they where working on this before that.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@AmazonMGMStudio Stargate

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@HDMEx_living @ProtonPrivacy And even if you did not get one, your neighbor across the street probably have one pointing right at you.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@ProtonPrivacy I got an old 40" TV from 2012. Does not need any internet to work.
I got a nice Philips stereo from the late 90's
Newest car I own is from year 2000 and I repair everything myself.
I use only Linux.

However, if this is not made illegal, it will soon be made impossible...

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@luceilyme @StopKilingGames Sometimes it does, Chat Control 1.0 already passed, now even more draconian Chat Control 2.0 is on the table and we have age(=ID) verification app being rolled out and digital wallet and digital Euro and so on and on.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@Tyrant4800 @StopKilingGames yeah but rip latency

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@rlyehcore @StopKilingGames Honestly that feels like the plan...

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@BahnhofAB Det är aldrig över tills det gått igenom. Dom försöker om och om igen och igen och igen och igen och igen och igen och igen tills folk bara inte orkar stå emot längre. Är detta demokrati?

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@ds9trek @N104AP @mullvadnet @ProtonVPN then just fine the parents who give their stupid kids a smartphone. It is pure stupidity to risk everybodys personal details to be leaked just because some parents don't know how to parent.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@ds9trek @N104AP @mullvadnet @ProtonVPN Just like the ban of alcohol and tobacco, don't sell it to them. If a kid is caught using one the social services should be called just like if the parents were buying alcohol to them. It's not foolproof but how many kids do you see running around with a bottle in their hands?

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@DragonStacker @arstechnica Basically yes, I can only think of one brand that is worse and that is LG.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@NotAvailabua2l @FieldToFuture @arstechnica That is true for most brands these days. One can still find ok TVs from the early "smartTV" days, they do not need any online crap. But a new TV of any brand? No thanks.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@jforce1r @Insythor @arstechnica Yes, but that will soon be impossible because most things are made with effing mandatory wifi and updates and subscriptions to use certain features.

[Matias Backlund @MatiasBacklund]

@arstechnica WHY is a fridge online????
