شاهزاده رضا پهلوی درباره دیدارش با پریتی پتل، وزیر خارجه دولت سایه بریتانیا، گفت در این دیدار بر ناکارآمدی چهار دهه سیاست مماشات با جمهوری اسلامی تاکید کرده است.
او افزود که به باورش، این سیاست نه به تغییر رفتار جمهوری اسلامی منجر شده و نه امنیت منطقه و جهان را افزایش داده است.
شاهزاده رضا پهلوی همچنین گفت در این دیدار تاکید کرده است که مردم ایران باید در مرکز هرگونه سیاست‌گذاری درباره جمهوری اسلامی قرار گیرند.
او جمهوری اسلامی را تهدیدی علیه مردم ایران و امنیت کشورهای دموکراتیک، از جمله بریتانیا، دانست و افزود حمایت از ملت ایران و ایستادگی در برابر شبکه‌های سرکوب و تروریسم جمهوری اسلامی، موثرترین راه برای دستیابی به ثبات، امنیت و صلح پایدار است.
