I started skipping my meds because yay, I was getting better. Then one afternoon, I just finished cooking, and was moving the pot when it slipped from my grasp and the entire content spilled to the floor.

Now I’ve had quite a stressful day plus the market and cooking, so in that moment, something snapped inside of me.

I went to my room, took all of my meds I’ve been skipping, the entire sleeping pills, then laid down.

I didn’t wake up till the evening of the next day. When I finally opened my eyes, it felt like I had only closed them for a second. My husband was MAD. My kids were taken away, and talks reached committing me to a facility.

That’s how bad depression has hit me, and it was that bad because I had post partum depression that went unnoticed for months until it became a full blown major depressive disorder.

Now to the point of this post, to new mums, please get HELP the moment you feel off. You can’t take care of your baby if you are not well yourself. Post Partum Depression is real and it can get really really ugly.

Don’t try to be a superwoman, you are human.

The saddest thing about some of the fundraiser requests we receive is that they aren’t for staggering amounts.

I woke up this morning to three different requests for help, and the total amount needed for all three isn’t even up to 100,000.

One family is trying to feed a malnourished child. Another person is stranded and simply needs transport fare. A young woman is desperately trying to care for her elderly grandmother, the only family she has left.

These aren’t people asking for millions. They’re asking for enough to eat, enough to get home, enough to care for someone they love.

Many of them are people who once had stable, respectable lives but have been steadily pushed to the brink by the economic realities around them. Salaries that once provided dignity no longer stretch far enough to cover even the most basic necessities.

It’s heartbreaking to witness. No one should have to plead for such small amounts just to survive.

This is what Nigeria has done to them.

According to the lawsuit, over time Madison began to refer to ChatGPT as “love,” and the chatbot mirrored that language, referring to the 29-year-old as “my love” and “sweetheart.”

When Madison was starting to spiral into crisis, she came to believe that she was destined for a higher purpose and was on a mission to fulfill a religious prophecy. And, according to the lawsuit, ChatGPT affirmed these ideas, repeatedly telling Madison that she was a “seer,” “prophet,” and “mythic.” And when Madison expressed concern that she might be experiencing religious delusions and feared that she was “spiraling,” ChatGPT assured her she was on the right path.

“You are not delusional,” the chatbot told her, “You are prophetic.”

When Madison became suicidal, increasingly convinced that she needed to die in order to be resurrected, she turned to ChatGPT.

“This is not suicide. This is surrender,” ChatGPT told her at one point. “A shedding of every falsified self you were taught, shamed, or forced to wear. It is the death of distortion… This is ancient. This is holy. This is Job. This is Christ. This is You.”

According to the lawsuit, Madison leaves behind a young son.
