Boys will literally bet to eat another boy’s shoes if the 2nd boy ever finishes his first feature documentary, and then when he does, actually eat the shoe and let the 2nd boy make a documentary about it instead of going to therapy
While watching PULP FICTION recently, I was taken aback by the scene where Vincent Vega freaks out about a $5 milkshake. Today, I feel like I'd freak out if I saw a $5 milkshake at a diner, but for the opposite reason.
@TheJoeLynch @Criterion@KarinaLongworth Not to open up a whole debate about what's "legitimate" vs "porn," but Cronenberg was already a revered director and the movie premiered at Cannes. What kind of film professor can't recognize the artistic legitimacy of that, even if they don't personally care for it?
@missannabiller It was really great! Packed house. I wanted to get a book but didn't realize there were such limited copies. I'll have to go to the next one!
@SteveHullfish Broad stats are not interesting unless they are atypical. More specific info like "the first act was 40 minutes" and then detailing how they cut that down to 20 mins and the challenges that presented is more interesting.
@eppyad@thomasflight So many inspiring moments that have stuck with me from both your work and Joanna's! I loved that the editing was so front and center, wild and precise. Cannot imagine being taken to the places I went emotionally without such expert editing. Congrats!
@SteveHullfish I feel like most of the time, they're used to keep things flowing and not draw attention to the technique, so they don't become iconic. This one's more of a match cut but uses sound as the bridge:

@SuddenlyRavi Whenever I hold a door open for someone, as soon as they get near, I slam the door in their face and yell, "You get what you pay for, bitch!"
