@GeirIvanTorvik I personally don't think Xabi will do a better job than Slot. Many of the fans wishing for Alonso's return to Anfield are driven by emotion. I believe Liverpool can still find a better manager.
A good manager will always bring out the best in his team with whatever he has at his disposal. Relying on a transfer window to fix failed tactics, poor game plan & management, lack of hunger and desire in the squad is a big red flag.
🚨 Arne Slot message to Liverpool fans: “I can understand at this moment in time they don’t have confidence that things can be much better next season…
…but I think they are underestimating what a transfer window can do, what a new start can do… I think we know quite well what we have to improve”.
Is there anyone out there who genuinely thinks that all this team needs is some signings and a pre season to turn this around. We are so far behind the level required to challenge it's actually upsetting.
We have some leaders leaving in the summer, we've some players who are regressing, at a serious rate. Arne Slot has not put the fire in the belly of this side in a long time. There's no spark and no belief.
We spent over £400M last summer but it feels like this summer we've more work to do than ever.
If Alisson leaves, we really need to consider if we are prepared long term. We've no energy in midfield and lack creativity from full backs that we had before.
Most worrying is the side don't seem to be giving it their all, simple as that. We can't even concentrate correctly, allowing opposition players run free, take free shots and go unopposed for goal scoring moments.
That performance is giving me Stoke 2015 vibes, as mentioned.
We can sign every player in the world but if we won't make that hard run, close that player in time, show enough aggression we can forget about it.
Just don't know what Slot is going to change in #LFC next season that he couldn't change now or few months ago, aside bringing in 2-4 new players in the summer, it is still the same manager with the same brand of football. Football is not won by just having quality players.
@_lfcleanne Do we expect any better from a manager waging war against a player who has come out to express his worry about the attitude of the team at the gym.
I'm sure the same applies to the training methods and that is why the team is so lazy now.
The majority of @LFC fans at Anfield have decided they want a new direction from the management team.
Arne Slot has lost the support of the Liverpool fans.
The boardroom has noted the mood at Anfield this afternoon.
Boos at full time.
The #Liverpool hierarchy owe the fans an explanation on why Slot is still the manager and why they intend to keep him in charge.
No doubt, under Slot the effort and desire of the team have dropped drastically and the overall standard of wearing the shirt has faded under Slot.
@DaveOCKOP I wish I could be in one of these interviews. What determines how a team would last on the pitch starts from the gym. That is where resilience, endurance and strength is built.
If a manager doesn't recognize this, then his team is built for failure.
@FabrizioRomano It all starts from the training. Whatever happens on the pitch starts from training. You can't have a poor preparation and expect a good performance on thr pitch
@Corballyred@rinit31 Totally spot on!!
Under Slot Liverpool have become the laziest team.
They have the lowest tackles and being outrunned by their opponents..
The biggest problem of this #Liverpool team under Slot is laziness.
They have the least tackles of all the team in the league.
Every team have outrun Chelsea until today, now Chelsea is outrunning Liverpool.
@AndyRobsonTips This was reflex at work. Why would a player block a ball that is heading in the direction of the opponent's goal post? Not a foul for me
@Corballyred No disrespect to Frimpong but I don't think he offers any spark at the RW. Maybe that money spent on Wirtz should have been used to sign 2-3 players.
I doubt if Liverpool have a performance analyst that shows the players what they did wrong & how they could do better.
