@RIGGED_NBA11 The Lakers have to do all their signings and trades in the right order to make it all work with their cap space. They are likely the ones slowing it down. It gives the Jazz a chance to expand the trade too if they can find someone willing.
@TuskedUp It might have to do with the Lakers trying to sign Kuminga. With how good DP will be right now they should probably just roll out this roster. JJJ starting at center isn’t ideal, but allows for both Ace and DP to start. There aren’t enough shots to go around if they add a guy
@grrr22 I loved WK, but he was not going to be their defensive anchor. That’s JJJ. Walker was the defensive anchor for 2 years on the 30th ranked defense. I think he’ll figure it out, but he’s not there yet
@HoboJ_ They weren’t trying to maximize wins this year even with WK. They want to maximize wins in a few years for the DP and Ace teams. I wanted WK back, but signing him for over $30 M would have been a mistake. They don’t need another center right now. The Hayes signing sucks though
@hallsrh I think the issue is matching salaries to get him. DP is the 3rd highest paid player on the team. We’d have to trade all the young guys plus Nurk for it to work
@EdwardRoon9180@ArtTakesNote@DLocke09 The reporting from reputable sources was that the Jazz didn’t get the same offer that the Clippers got, and no one knew the pick would be at 5 when the trade was made. The Clippers got 2 firsts and filler, the Jazz got 2 firsts and 2 swaps. Pretty similar return
@JPadmore92 I wanted him back, but that $30+ million price would have forced the Jazz to trade him in a couple years anyway. I’m super surprised they got those picks out of this
@ZP12Hoops@cyguy_9 Boozer would probably be the backup 5 and 4 next year. Lauri would probably be the first to go in the next year or two, especially with Ace already looking like his heir apparent
