@davidjsmith1232 Not to mention Ace! I've gone through the mental exercise of who will avg 20+ next season and it's difficult to say. Only so many shots.
Fit has become undervalued in the NBA draft IMO. Best player available makes sense if there are big gaps in talent, but with how close Peterson, Dybantsa, and Boozer, DP’s seamless fit should be a big factor.
@LocksHomer It’s a fascinating draft for sure. Top 3 all have cases and as an armchair GM hard for me to judge purely by YouTube clips and podcasts… that said I love DP’s archetype
@LocksHomer Yeah all comes down to how big of a gap you see between the players. Did Vlade think Luka was pretty close to Bagley in talent? We don’t really know. Discourse at the time is that they were comparable. Fit is a piece of the puzzle is my main point.
@donjazz45man For sure. My main point is just that I think BPA over fit has become overstated and more so that DP is very easy to team build around. When you’re forced to trade a player that doesn’t mesh you often lose value.
@LocksHomer In hindsight he absolutely should’ve taken Luka, but concensus was that Luka and Bagley were comparable prospects and 2/3 on most big boards. That Vlade screwed up was more that Luka ended up being generational and didn’t see it than by drafting for better fit imo
Boozer also looks fantastic and offensively can play on or off ball. But defensively he might be a non-rim protecting big who is too slow to guard athletic wings.
