Told a driver that I needed his help with looking for me because I’m a blind person, he asked me if I had a guide dog, I said yes, and then he claimed to not see me. Then waited until he could easily cancel the ride after hanging up on me so that I would get charged. Not OK @lyft

Blind people use audible clues to gain context about what’s going on around us. If/when you see us approaching and you’re making some kind of noise (talking, typing, fiddling with your keys) don’t stop.

@EllumeHealth @NFB_voice @matt_hackert I have completed several of the tests myself nonvisually. When the app prompts to pair the reader, press the button, wait a second, then press and hold for 2 or 3 seconds, and the process should move on. #A11y @nfb_Voice @Matt_Hackert

The @EllumeHealth #Covid19 tests distributed by the government can be completed nonvisually. Even though the app says to look for the light, this is not necessary to test successfully. The app moves to the next step once the reader connects. #A11y @nfb_Voice @Matt_Hackert
