Started reading The Creative Act: A Way of Being by @RickRubin. Some very interesting stuff in here.
This is probably my favorite part I’ve read so far. So true.
Spent the last 20 years building software & hardware companies
> Last software company sold for $100M
> Then took my company public at $2.7B
Here are my top 9 lessons learned:
@ShaanVP have you seen this? Former Billy of the week Brad Jacobs wrote a book on how to make a few billion dollars.
Baller. It ain’t bait if it’s true.
I've spent my career helping companies like https://t.co/UDQb83LAcF, https://t.co/UdLoxpcyOY, and https://t.co/Q4V5D6n3uY manage their war chest in times of emergency.
Yesterday with SVB was wild. A trigger for companies to do homework.
I'm advising clients to think about this:
I'm speechless.
Not peer-reviewed yet but a submitted paper.
The 'presented images' were shown to a group of humans. The 'reconstructed images' were the result of an fMRI output to Stable Diffusion.
In other words, #stablediffusion literally read people's minds.

Two racks. My friends, it fits in *two racks*. I love the cloud as much as the next person, but $7m over five years to run a workload that will fit in *two racks* makes me want to sleep for a year. Fully automating two racks was not hard. https://t.co/yhFcduScq5
@typesfast @cold_brewH @H2omanUs Overall, Lee Kuan Yew did a lot of good things for the country, but he also did some sketchy things like jailing one of his political rivals.
The big problem rn in Singapore I’ve heard is housing. Apparently housing is in such shortage, a lot of people are struggling
@typesfast @cold_brewH @H2omanUs Yeah because the guy that ran Singapore was a dictator. He would send anyone to jail for even minor crimes, so in Singapore no one tries to do anything anymore.
I've updated my list of visual design rules you can safely follow every time to add rules about nested corners and hard dividers.
Up to 25 rules now.
I've also tweaked the explanations to make it clearer why they're good rules to follow.

🗣️ Let’s talk shadows!
Recently, I’ve noticed a few people doing this sort of stroke treatment on containers, buttons and other elements, and it hurts my feelings, lol.
@BillAckman@awilkinson@FTX_Official@SBF_FTX I agree, it’s weird that he chose to take the path he did, when he could have just taken the Coinbase approach, which is slower but completely safe
Instead, he’s going to jail and now he gets to keep none of the money. So, what was the point? Kid is pretty smart but also stupid
@adamwathan Also in 5 years from now, you guys might run out of things to work on for TailwindCSS and start to get bored & eventually move on to a new project. If that’s the case, more Rust experience would definitely be useful
@adamwathan Voting for Rust because it sounds like a cool project. If it speeds up TailwindCSS more and makes it easier to maintain, I’d consider that a plus
The other UI things are nice but honestly having read RefactoringUI, I don’t feel like I need any more help on UI now
