I can’t believe 2026 saw Canadians start out Canadian, get told by TikTok that we’re Chinese now, narrowly escape getting forced to become American, experience the Super Bowl reveal that we’re LATIN American, and now suddenly we’re European, what a year it’s been
Took me 15 minutes to read a few studies that say privatization of airports has questionable data on making them more efficient but an almost perfect track record of making them more expensive for consumers.
Carney is better than the alternatives, but….
Privatizing airports is a terrible deal for travellers, workers, and the public purse.
Around the world, it has led to higher travel costs, fewer jobs and worse working conditions.
Private equity moguls and fund managers love it! Once they’re in, they own a piece of a natural monopoly, and they print money for decades.
This is a mistake we do not need to make.
The alternative to privatizing our airports is to NOT DO IT.
Downloading the Rogers Victoria International Airport app so I can subscribe to a Telus Health seat for 50,000 Optimum Points while I wait in Loblaws Hall for my baggage to show up on the Cohere Carousel because I wouldn’t fork over my Tim Hortons Rewards to get priority baggage
Yes, I'm a communist. I don't think Ontario hospitals should be having to make social media posts asking for donations for blankets for newborns. Sorry for thinking Doug Ford should properly fund our hospitals, that's just my commie brain at work. I'll do it again.
