I hear what you are saying John and have been following your discussion closely with @BrephosUK. I think it is another case of 'both and'. Indeed we want revival. Pragmatically revival boosts numbers, which therefore boosts leverage within society generally and the political sphere specifically. However, coming back to my 'both and', numbers are useless without consensus. The empirical evidence demonstrates that the majority of evangelical's are 'inconclusive' on the issue. So even if we did get the numbers it doesn't necessarily follow we will have more impact on the issue. What we desperately need is an educational campaign today. The danger is that we keep waiting for the cavalry to come without realising we are it.
