@Jason Totally agree that employers should not hire illegal immigrants. Laws already state that is illegal. From what I have learned over the years here in CA, businesses must fill out a Form I-9 for all employees showing proof they are legal to work in the US. Businesses are required in “good faith” to review documents so that they are deemed reasonably legitimate. But if an illegal immigrant provides fake social security numbers and/or other fake government documentation, there is not much a business can do, nor are they required by law to do more. From what I understand, stolen SSN are used all the time. This has been going on for decades in CA. The State turns a blind eye to this because they collect payroll taxes from these illegal immigrant’s paychecks. Agriculture, landscaping, roofing, most low paying manual labor businesses have workers doing this. So I think empowering the business to verify legal employment status (with a government agency database that provides a pass/fail response, so that the business is not liable) is what should be done, but we need State legislatures to pass law(s) requiring this…..which won’t happen in CA because they want the tax revenue from these payroll taxes. What’s your thought on this?
@SenAdamSchiff, @SenAlexPadilla and all other Senators, vote to confirm @RobertKennedyJr as Secretary of Health and Human Services. Do not let pharmaceutical, health and food companies buy your vote.
A quote from RFK Jr.’s Senate confirmation hearing opening statement…. “A healthy person has a 1,000 dreams, but a sick person only has one.” I encourage everyone to reach out to their Senators and ask them to vote yes to appoint RFK Jr. as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services. And for those Senators who vote no, we should all look into their campaign contributions from pharmaceutical and food companies.

Elizabeth Warren tried to put RFK Jr. on the spot. What happened next was priceless.

Reid is Dmitri Mehlhorn a close business associate and partner as this article states? He and the organization you both co-founded called “Investing in US” said that the assassination attempt on Trump was most likely staged by Trump’s campaign. Please explain. https://t.co/BeU6hdpszO
@skupor@reidhoffman I hope it is not. I would have never thought Reid to be so closely associated with someone who expresses such an unhinged viewpoint.
@Jason I noticed this as well. I’m hoping someone there can provide some context on the situation……like maybe someone in the audience raised their hand for a follow up questions, or something.
Regarding Microsoft’s role in the @elonmusk lawsuit against @OpenAI. I feel there could be some real legitimacy in the lawsuit. If OpenAI is forced to open source everything, doesn’t that significantly devalue Microsoft’s investment in OpenAI and hurt their stock price? I wonder if Microsoft’s recent acquihire (or whatever you call that deal) of Inflection AI is related….like insurance, or hedging their bets.
The group who stays on to build Twitter into what we all expected Twitter to be, is “in it to win it.” No doubt new founders will come from this group in the future.
Wow, unbelievable. So out of the loop. Treas. Sec. Steve Mnuchin says AI & automation is "not even on my radar screen" & "50-100 yrs away" https://t.co/ITMtHDGZbV
