We can announce that Gerhard Struber has been relieved of his duties as Bristol City Head Coach.

Roy Hodgson will take charge of the Men’s First Team until the end of the season, while the club will task the incoming Sporting Director with appointing a permanent Head Coach for the 2026/27 campaign.

The club’s recent performances have not met expectations and therefore Struber and Assistant Head Coach Bernd Eibler will leave with immediate effect.

Over the last 10 years, 8th place has finished roughly 19 points behind 3rd, that’s roughly 6/7 wins over a season. Thats not “missing out” that’s not being good enough to compete with the better teams. 1/3

The play offs are meant to reward the best teams who narrowly miss out on automatics, not hand a lifeline to teams not even close.
Plus it’s promotion to a league that already has a yo-yo club problem, where we constantly see parachute payment teams bounce straight back up. 2/3
