@barbarismcrit I really look forward to the point where AOC is supposed to be the moderate in the party.
My hope (again... hope) is that our newcomers like Darializa & Claire will rock the boat more.
To those asking: $15 isn't enough.
$28,800. That's the annual pay with a 40 hour workweek at $15/hr.
The median Fortune 500 CEO makes $19 million.
We can afford to pay people a living wage.
Senator Chris Murphy is introducing a bill to raise the federal minimum wage to $25 an hour.
The bill would increase the $7.25 hourly wage over 6 years and prohibit subminimum wages for tipped workers.
Nearly half of American workers make less than $25 an hour.
Growing Dem angst over their party's "Mamdani wing"
One battleground Democrat told me they are so concerned about the rise of democratic socialists that they're having serious convos with donors about leaving the party altogether next term

DSA is essentially a wealthy, white, highly educated movement which very carefully selects candidates from their 0.00001% members of color to try and sell the ideas to black and brown people who are historically extremely averse to socialism
I get that this is a terrible result but please be cognizant that the average Oklahoman probably wants a $15 minimum wage.
This was a vote by approximately 10% of the state. Most people who aren't hard right have completely given up on electoral politics in areas like these.
@SamForstag if I wake up tomorrow and you've won, please make the correct decision and support Medicare for All.
The public option is a cop out. If you want to be Bernie/AOC endorsed, Medicare for All should be a given.

Ken Martin will be at a fundraiser in Jackson, MS tonight - all I hope is that somebody sincerely checks him.
The DNC gives us 250k a year. If we want a real 50 state plan, we need more than money. We need access to infrastructure, and a local party structure that is competent.
Rich people say this because it would destroy the tax base.
Billionaires should be taxed out of existence, and most people should pay a reasonable amount so we can ensure that everyone is taken care of.
Cutting taxes means cutting revenue, regardless of who we cut for.
Walmart just reported $5.33 billion in profits for Q1.
The average Walmart worker is paid less than a living wage, forcing them to rely on taxpayer-funded government assistance.
Walmart's profits are our tax dollars subsidizing their poverty wages.
"The record is clear, Republican policies work"
Republicans in MS wanted ONE BILL to pass (school choice) and couldn't even get their own agenda done.
Not only are they writing bad policy, they're completely ineffective. They can only win by gerrymandering.
Thank you to the Madison County Republican Executive Committee, @ms_mcrw, and the Madison County Republican Club for hosting me for the America 250 Celebration. We have real momentum going in Mississippi and in America and I was pleased to be able to share some of the Legislative successes we have experienced over the last several sessions. From establishing a pathway to eliminate the personal income tax in Mississippi, removing burdensome regulations in our healthcare system with antiquated CON laws, to building on the "Mississippi Miracle" with transformational policies in education, Mississippi's future is bright!
The record is clear: Conservative polices work. The best way to enact conservative policies is to elect Republicans to local, state, and federal office. And these Madison County Republicans get it.
@CooperTV I think his take lacks a lot of nuance. There are people who push subs harder, take the sponsor deals who could do it full time, but just clicking the stream button to 100 viewers doesn't get you there.
