Sam Presti just fired back at SGA critics with some eye-opening numbers:
He drew 415 fouls this season.
Only 11 were challenged.
Only 4 were overturned.

It's not an overreaction to question Chet Holmgren's fit in OKC. He straight-up can't defend Wemby, and he was terrified on offense. Bobbled passes. Tripped over his own feet. Even if Wemby wasn't lurking, he looked incapable of scoring against other San Antonio defenders. It was illuminating how bad he was.
But it's also not the first time. Chet was also terrible offensively against Indiana in last year's NBA Finals. He's now 30% from 3 in 48 career playoff games. He's shown no signs of being a shot creator. And his shooting and finishing isn't even translating to the playoffs. Now his max contract is about to kick in. It is completely reasonable to question whether Chet should be part of that plan.
I don't think the answer is a definitive no, to be clear. Chet was voted second in DPOY for a reason. He's an excellent, versatile defender. He still made some competitive plays for the Thunder on that end throughout the series for OKC. And he's still only 24 so there's room for growth on offense. But the Spurs are OKC's main rival and Victor Wembanyama is the player they'll have to get through to win a second title. If Chet can't defend Wemby and can't produce on the other end of the floor, the Oklahoma City front office should at least debate Chet's future.
Chet Holmgren in Game 7 loss vs. Spurs:
4 PTS
1-2 FG
4 REB
2 TO
Attempted 0 shots in the second half.
His 5-year, $239.9M extension kicks in next year.
Presti better get off of Chet , thatโs about to be the worst contract in the NBA . 7โ1 & canโt guard bigsโฆ 7โ1 & canโt post up guards . & the dude got the heart of a roach .
done with spreadsheets
done with advanced stats

basketball is about whoโs a bitch and who isnโt and Chet Holmgren is a fucking bitch
