@SashaGusevPosts You're right that EA is the poster child for factors that bias GWAS. And that's exactly why we SHOULD continue to study it with GWAS. It allows us to develop models and approaches to quantify these issues much more easily than in traits less affected.

@cathrynlewis Sorry Cathryn. I like your work but strongly disagree here. Nature doesn't care about budgets. Yet more small sample papers showing positive results for the "usual suspect" candidate genes isn't helpful to say the least. Plenty of work to do in large publicly avail GWAS datasets

@matthewckeller Just out of interest, I did a Web of Science search to see where most studies of depression & 5-HTTLPR had been done. They tend to be elite institutions: I guess not surprising, but raises qu of why this persisted so long. #genetics#depression
