Also: We can’t (& shouldn’t have to) “educate” our children/people out of this traffic violence.
#EnGiNeeRING is the key: of cities that are less/not car dependent, of streets that prioritize people’s health & safety, of 🚗that don’t take more than a fair share of space.
Whenever they tell you a change is impossible, show them Utrecht.
An urban freeway with many lanes can become a green park with a beautiful canal. Instead of a car sewer, the water flows.

"Big events like this there's usually a lot of road closures around. We have the ability to get into those tight areas, get into those road closures, get into those big crowds of hundreds and thousands of people and provide first immediate care"

Drug decrim means people who use drugs will never go to jail just for using/possessing drugs.
10 years ago this month, I was a full-time paramedic student on the dean’s list, working at Domino’s Pizza, earning income and military education benefits. I was addicted to heroin.🧵
We would love to see the neighborhood bikeways plowed after storms. These key bike routes are impassible for days or weeks at a time after snow storms under the current policy.
We are once again asking @MayorHancock and @DenverDOTI to install diverters on all neighborhood bikeways. They are cheap to install and provide high comfort for riders.
Terrible day for a grocery run in the #urbanarrow. But despite the slow, bumpy ride my transportation choice 1) didn’t endanger anyone else’s life, 2) didn’t make the next person’s trip on our roads more difficult, 3) didn’t have a negative impact on the environment.
Sidewalks and bus stops are completely inaccessible, forcing us #wheelchair users into streets to board buses or get anywhere. The city system for reporting doesn't work. The #ADA requires maintenance of accessible features. @DenverPerfect10 @CandiCdeBacaD9@BikeWalkBus
@DenBicycleLobby In many contexts, meetings are a time/money-wasting activity if maintaining the status quo is an option. Meetings should focus on change preference, i.e. “We’re going to do something different, so what different thing do you prefer.”
How to explain car-oriented transportation planning:
“Welcome to the restaurant. Let me tell you about our menu. Pizza is all-you-can-eat, and it’s free. Everything else costs $50 each, is a tiny portion, and takes 8 hours to prepare. So, what can I get you?”
When we de-prioritize 🚸👩🏾🦽🚴🏾♀️access, we reinforce car-dependence, undermine our #VisionZero goals & make our city less livable for everyone. (4/fin)

Crossing the I-70 underpass to access Rocky Mtn Lake Park should be easy/safe for everyone: children, seniors & anyone else who doesn't enjoy the protection of being inside a car. (3/4) #SafeRoutesToParks
Lowell Blvd is also where the Regis University campus sits, & where the shops north of I-70 welcome customers. People who walk & roll (🚸👩🏾🦽🚴🏾♀️) want (& deserve) safe+direct access to the shops too. (2/4)
