European born in the land of Italy, trekker, geocacher, now at @UNRWA_EU advocating 4 Palestine refugees 🇺🇳🇪🇺 personal account, my views, rt ≠ endorsement
📢 Today, 15:00–16:30, @UNRWA’s Director of #Education Julia Dicum joins @Europarl_EN’s Delegation for Relations with Palestine (#DPAL) for an exchange on access to #education in the occupied Palestinian territory. 🎓

I am and feel European.
I support the EU as a project for global peace, rights, equality and prosperity.
But — at this time of war, international bullying, abuse of rights and injustice — together with many other anguished Europeans, I ask:
Europe, where are you?
UNRWA plays an essential role in providing healthcare and education to millions of Palestinians across the region, particularly in Gaza, and must be able to operate without restrictions, now and in the future.
The mandate of @UNRWA remains as relevant as ever.
The EU will continue to provide political and financial support to UNRWA, as it has done for decades.
Thank you @UNLazzarini for your farewell visit to Brussels and for your leadership at the helm of UNRWA in these challenging times.
Today I joined the opening of the exhibition “Gaza : Through Their Eyes” in Brussels.
For decades, @UNRWA has helped the people of #Gaza to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of violence & destruction.
Contrary to pernicious disinformation, we continue to do so today.
#UNRWAworks to provide healthcare, learning + vital humanitarian assistance for those in need.
Today I thanked Commissioner @hadjalahbib & the EU for the vital 🇪🇺 political + financial support provided to UNRWA.
Without this support, it would be impossible for the Agency to continue delivering essential services.
Grateful to the City of Brussels for hosting this exhibition from 4 February until 1 March at The Bourse.
Over 380 @UNRWA colleagues killed in #Gaza.
At 🇪🇺 @Europarl_EN with @eu_echo@hadjalahbib we reaffirmed key principles:
🔹@UN 🇺🇳 is not a party to conflict.
🔹Protecting #AidWorkers is not optional.
🔹@UNRWA must be allowed to work, laying the groundwork for peace & stability.
Honored to attend the #SakharovPrize ceremony representing @UNRWA as finalists with @PalestineRCS & @InfoPJS.
A recognition for journalists & aid workers, and an important acknowledgment of @Europarl_EN's long-standing support for @UNRWA's work in difficult times.
🇪🇺🤝🇺🇳
.@UNRWA has never left the #Gaza Strip. Its 12,000 employees and more than 1,000 medical staff have been there throughout the war.
The needs are immense. They have not decreased with the ceasefire.

Investing in the public sector that sustains stability costs far less than responding to its collapse.
This also applies to @UNRWA, an essential service provider in #Gaza & the region.
I welcome the European Parliament’s position on the #EUBudget2026 & its recent call to strengthen support for @UNRWA at a time when needs in #Gaza + the region have never been greater.
This strong signal of solidarity from the @Europarl_EN comes as the Agency strives to sustain vital humanitarian, educational & public health services across the Gaza Strip.
The support of the EU is a lifeline — & an investment in peace.

A month ago, @antonioguterres reaffirmed @UNRWA’s vital role in peace, development, and security - urging support.
Today, we welcome 🇪🇺 @Europarl_EN’s position on the #EUBudget2026, including additional funding for UNRWA to help sustain its crucial work in #Gaza and the region.
🙏 Thank you to @EP_Development for today's opinion on the EU budget 2026, calling for more funding for the Southern Neighbourhood to ensure access to basic services, including for #PalestineRefugees.
@UNRWA is on the ground delivering these essential services every day.
We proudly nominate journalists and humanitarian aid workers in all conflicts—represented by the Palestinian Press Association, the Palestine Red Crescent Society, and UNRWA—for the 2025 Sakharov Prize.
In Gaza, where they have been deliberately targeted, their work is vital to saving lives and ensuring the world knows the truth.
Parliament pushes for Gaza aid, the hostages’ release and justice.
"It calls urgently for UNRWA’s full mandate and funding to be reinstated".

Grateful to the @Europarl_EN for its support for @UNRWA in today's vote on the #Gaza resolution.
Members called for the Agency’s mandate and funding being fully upheld, alongside protection and unimpeded humanitarian aid for all those in need in the Gaza Strip.
Grazie a Sandro Ruotolo e @pdnetwork per aver acceso i riflettori su #Gaza, sull’istruzione negata a centinaia di migliaia di bambini e sul ruolo dell'@UNRWA

“The bare minimum response is not enough for #Gaza,” says @UNMartaLorenzo.
Famine has now been confirmed, while thousands of tons of UNRWA aid are blocked since March 2.
This crisis is man-made, and there have not been real improvements on the ground.

🇵🇸🇮🇱 Carestia a Gaza.
Una delle critiche più sofisticate per sostenere che la comunità internazionale tratti Gaza in maniera “speciale” è FALSA.
Non lo avreste mai detto, vero?
Breve thread. 🧵
The @UNRWA#Jordan warehouse holds enough aid to last a month for over 200,000 people in #Gaza:
➡️ 2K tons of flour
➡️ 55K food parcels
➡️ 19K hygiene kits
➡️ 196K blankets
➡️ critical medical supplies
This aid has been blocked by the State of Israel. The siege must be lifted.
#FuelForGaza is more than just a need. It's a lifeline for people's survival.
Fuel is critical to keep essential services running – such as hospitals, clinics, and water systems.
Unless more fuel is allowed into Gaza immediately, more people will die.
