Student journalism needs your support.
It’s getting harder to keep the SPA accessible to everyone. Our membership is free and we’re a volunteer-led charity. But costs keep increasing.

The wait is over... the countdown to #SPANC25 has begun, and this year promises to be as unforgettable as ever.
We’re thrilled to announce that our national conference will be held in Exeter 4-6th April 2025, hosted by Exeposé, the University of Exeter’s student newspaper.
Can I speak my truth that I hate the ‘this is what #strictly’ is about rhetoric
It’s not about just one thing and saying one person embodies it is just unfair
To me strictly’s about escapism, enjoying dancing, campness
Which ALL the semi finalists have
Is this the ultimate quotation of a very obscure and almost unused British WW2 propaganda slogan forgotten until it was displayed in 2000 by a bookshop in Alnwick?
🎧 New episode of SPA Spotlight out now!
The second episode of the SPA Spotlight podcast is out now, featuring editors from Nottingham's languages and culture magazine Lingo and @TYorkHistorian sharing their insights into running a specialist student publication.
I am soooo not a fan of the celebs being introduced by name only and coming on to a random song!! It is BRITISH CULTURE to hear ‘social media personality, model and broadcaster’ over the top of the #Strictly theme tune as they dance down stairs !!!! This country is falling apart
Today we’re launching the SPA Spotlight podcast, which is all about helping our members share their work and ideas with each other.
The first episode is full of advice on the different roles & opportunities you can find in student journalism from people who've already done them!

Congrats to our new executive committee for 2024/25, elected by our members at #SPANC24 🎉

I'm so proud of my article on The Gloucester exhibition, celebrating just one example of the great research that comes out of Arts & Humanities at @uniofeastanglia, so this is an absolute joy!
