Cassandra Herring and Ellis Hurd have been selected to serve as members of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Board of Directors. Herring is President, CEO, and founder of BranchED , a national professional services organization advancing educational Excellence. Hurd if the coordinator of Graduate Programs in the School of Teaching and Learning at @IllinoisStateU. Herring is filling a partial term through June 30, 2028, and Hurd is filling a partial term through June 20, 2027.

Stacey Edmonson has been elected as Chair of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Board of Directors. Edmonson serves the Texas A&M University System as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Place-Based Partnerships. She previously served 12 years as Dean of the College of Education at Sam Houston State University and has been a teacher, principal, and district leader in Texas public schools. She has served on the CAEP Board of Directors since July 2025 and has also served as a lead reviewer for CAEP.

Released in 1975, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was an animated television special directed by legendary animator Chuck Jones and based on the classic story by Rudyard Kipling.

The story follows a brave mongoose who takes on two deadly cobras to protect the family that rescued him. For a generation of kids, it was one of those rare animated films that felt genuinely intense. The stakes were real, the villains were terrifying, and you couldn't help but root for Rikki-Tikki every step of the way.

More than 50 years later, it's still remembered as one of the finest animated adaptations ever put on television.

Is CAEPCon Right for Small Providers?

Nearly 40 percent of CAEP accredited providers are considered small with less than 50 completers a year, some less than 10 completers per year. Being a small provider means facing unique challenges. CAEPCon allows individuals from small schools to network with their peers, from small and large providers and make connections. Many staff from small providers have to wear many hats. CAEPCon allows them time to collaborate, get new ideas and support from CAEP staff and their peers.
