I was laid off a year ago and doubled down on my side hustle as a hard money lender.

Since then, our biz has closed over 170 loans in Texas. We'll double this number next year, but will take a shift in strategy.

@moseskagan I've been really enjoying the Courtney series by Wilbur Smith. Follows a couple families over the centuries in s. Africa. Peter Noble is a fantastic narrator if audible is your thing. Did Century series by Ken Follet recently, also excellent.

But people are still taking nice vacations - just had our best quarter arranging yacht charters in the Caribbean.

@thesamparr Instead of one island, why not all of them?

Do an all-inclusive, multi-yacht, catamaran charter in BVI instead. Gives you the same high-end experience but with more adventure and variety.

We go down and sail 2-3x a year in BVI. The Yacht Warriors can set it up.

Most of the deals we fund won't wait 30-45 days for bank financing.

Some also wouldn't get approved by banks: hairy deals, credit score, W2, etc

@FlyersDistrict @sweatystartup This was at Culebra. Your best bet of chartering a 380 is in BVI. They still have a couple there, but they are mostly being phased out.
