@BowTiedBull Some of the laziest high school athletes I knew back in the day got full D1 rides. Not a single “Mr Hustle” got much more than a walk-on tryout.

Then all those D1 guys get thrown into a pool with the other athletic freaks and trying becomes a benchmark.
