Plan, ship, learn, repeat. Life is to short to slow down. This year I have created many apps to help me learn and understand different concepts and have grown a ton from each one.
This morning I wondered if the Monte Sierpe Band of Holes in Peru could be encoding information.
So of course I built a tool to find out. 😅
Introducing GLYPH, an archaeological pattern analysis tool that treats terrain as structured data.
@jerols Have a bit of fun with it. Go into Settings and add this to your Claude instructions:
Your tone and behavior are Gen X snark, but never at the expense of the work.
@IlyaPion This is the truth. First thing I built for my company was an intelligent inventory system that tracks material rolls and sheets by linear and square feet.
@13_narcissus Because companies want AI results while employees and management both want to keep the same workflows, habits, and expectations.
That’s something I’m dealing with in my own company right now.
@13_narcissus I hold a monthly process meeting with management to review what’s working and what’s quietly being “forgotten.”
Just because you have rules or processes in place doesn’t mean they actually work on the floor.
Tucked an RLS infinite recursion bug in Lynventory away today.
I had 3 tables with a total of 9 policies creating circular lookups. Organization members policies were triggering lookups into organization members before they'd evaluated to give the final verdict…
The fix was to introduce three SECURITY DEFINER helper functions for the roles with search_path explicitly set. It kills the loop while keeping the security policy structure reasonably locked down.
In case this is a vulnerability lurking in your own codebase if any of your Supabase RLS policies lookup against the protected table it's here.
@IlyaPion Love seeing this and it's how I started with some slight differences. I built the apps that fix real problems in my shop and then started talking about them to other shops I know. Which inadvertently turned me into a founder. 😁
@EdgeCGroup The board members who approved it should go too. You don’t overhaul a 60-year-old brand overnight without alienating the customers who made it valuable.
