Most indie SaaS fails because of impatience.
Engineers are used to instant feedback:
- test pass/fail
- button on screen or not
- deploy green or red.
Marketing has none of that. It's slow. No guarantees. No instant feedback. Exactly the opposite of daily coding.
Engineers’ brains cannot handle it, it’s uncomfortable, annoying and just feels wrong.
So they vibe-code app #21 with zero users (family doesn't count 🫥) instead of sitting in that uncertainty.
Is there a solution?
I think so: don't set goals you can't control. You can't control who buys and when.
But you CAN control: 100 cold outreaches, 10 X posts, 1 event this week.
Rigid timeline. New goals next week. That's marketing. That's sales. And you can trick your brain to stop dreading it by focusing on building this new feedback loop.
But... can every engineer do it? Probably not
Let’s cleanse the timeline from AI slop.
If you are into:
- SaaS
- AI Agents
- Automation
- Tech Startup
Drop what you are building below. Let’s connect and follow each other’s journey.
P.S. Influencers, please skip this and move on.
@0xqsec Hey, share it. The app should go out into the world and let people decide.
If an anime episode makes someone sad, it means it does its job: it's written, voiced, and directed well, so people will enjoy it.
@whoisdivyam That's an original idea. I think it's pretty cool: customers get what they need, builders get some $$$. Win-win, those are one of the best business models.
@PowerBIElite The name is amazing, and the privacy angle is going to get big in a few years.
Just keep going, I think it can be a really successful app when more people catch on that their data costs money.
@ChinmayVivek Very nice. I think open source is really underrated for solo founders. It could be a great jump-start.
Congrats on launching it. Many people are too shy to start OSS.
I would add 2002 here, which is literally a mirror of today’s AI race.
The dot-com collapse killed companies so big they would now be called “too big to fail.” But they are gone now.
100% someone will go down in this cycle. It’s not sustainable. Would it be OpenAI, Anthropic, or maybe MS?

@erden_xi I still remember how, for fun, I sent a prompt to make a dashboard and it … just built it. It was not perfect, but my jaw was on the floor for a few days.
Opus 5 is an abomination. Absolutely the worst frontier model. Earlier today:
I was too lazy to switch the models, so I asked Opus to compare these 2 files and find if the contents overlap.
Opus: OMG I found this 3rd file called “draft.md”. Those 2 files overlap with the “draft.md”. In fact “draft.md” is much better.
WTF is this??! 😭 How can it be so dumb? At this point literally any Chinese model is better.
