@eigencloud announced that an additional 100 EIGEN will be added to all users who interacted with EigenLayer before April 29.

After simple Sybil filtering, all Season 1 users will receive a minimum of 110 EIGEN (floor of 10 EIGEN plus the addition of 100 EIGEN).

Season 2 users who started staking between March 15th and April 29th will also receive a minimum of 100 EIGEN.

To prevent attackers from manipulating the protocol, they will not extend this to all users staking after the announcement date (April 29).

This disqualification was a necessary compromise to ensure fair distribution, but the feedback they've received has heavily influenced this revision!

Three clarifications:

1. The lockup countdown starts AFTER transferability

Investors and the team remain aligned. EIGEN will only be transferable for the community after a three-year countdown, finishing unlocking fully three years after the protocol launch.

2. Timeline

Earlier this week, they announced that Season 2 is going live and that increased decentralization is a prerequisite for enabling transferability.

To provide clearer timelines, transferability is now targeted for September 30th, 2024.

Decentralization and future permissions will help determine if the community will have the voting power needed to activate transferability.

3. Testnet operator allocation upcoming

They are aware that certain teams missed being eligible for testnet allocations. They will provide more details in the coming weeks.
