@OndrejStrasky Funnily enough, I played UW Control in the qualifier and went 3-2 day 2. I wouldn't have played Counterspell. The format is too hostile to counters in general (infinite discard spells, Eldrazi, Voice of Victory). The best card draw spells, Stock Up and One Ring, don't help either
@NoorSin314 I'm worried about dying 😅 It's just an excellent defensive play with relevant types for delirum. Also it keeps bombardment in check which is the main way the energy deck can kill us before we combo.
Day Two
(draw) Jeskai Lotus WLL
(draw) Jeskai Lotus WW
(play) Jegantha Energy LWW
(draw) Jeskai Lotus WLW
(draw) Jegantha Energy WW
(draw) Lurrus Energy WW
(play) Jeskai Control LWW
@JacobWilson95 Hey! Bowmasters Inquiry is a powerful combo and I think UR is the best shell for it. Although it was best when not everyone was running their own Bowmasters :) I'd like more ways to loot away Inquiry but unsure how yet (or simply play less / no Inquiry)
@zerangels Mono white is definitely a hard matchup. But little things can add up like playing less shock lands, using eiganjo, adding omnath main and archon in the board. I like my chances as long as I win the die roll :)
Just returned from Athens after competing with Keruga Fires and securing a respectable 29th position! The journey of my first year in paper Magic has been filled with challenges, making this achievement all the more satisfying. Excited to finally see a decent outcome!
@JEDepraz @PVDDR@chifleycole@WickedFridge@kanister_mtg I can imagine a world where PtE is better on the play and Solitude is better on the draw. On the play in a grindy matchup, the tempo loss might be more manageable than being down an active card. Low confidence, haven't played Modern in years
Finished 9-6 at #SNCChamps which qualifies me for the Pro Tour! I went 4-3 with Naya Runes in Standard and 5-3 with Auras in Historic. Now I need to figure out this "paper Magic" thing!
