In terms of population replacement among Western nations, Ireland is unique, for a few reasons.

1 - By area, we are a tiny country.

2 - We are experiencing some of the highest levels of immigration in Europe.

3 - Although we are an island, you can literally walk into our country because there's no border up north. Realistically, the government has no idea who is in the country.

Those three things combined mean population replacement and the inevitable consequences will be seen and felt in Ireland on a scale most other nations haven't experienced.

In a country as small as Ireland, even minimal immigration is noticable. But with over 1.2 million people living here who were born elsewhere, and who knows how many kids born here to migrant parents (1/3 of all births recently), it's impossible to ignore.

It's not just Dublin, Cork and Galway, every city, town and village in Ireland has been affected, from rural Donegal all the way down the Killarney.

You've heard of Gaeltacht areas, Irish speaking areas? There are approximately 100,000 people living in the Gaeltacht. Well, there are about the same number of Indians living in Ireland. This year, they will surpass the number of people in the Gaeltacht.

The same is true for Muslims, approximately 100,000.

And Africans, about the same number.

All these figures are official numbers, I think we all know it's really a lot higher.

By the end of 2026 we are looking at a situation where there are more Africans in Ireland than people in the Gaeltacht, more Indians in Ireland than people in the Gaeltacht and more Muslims in Ireland than people in the Gaeltacht.

Breaking 🇮🇪: Woman, 50s, has been seriously injured after stabbing at a Tramore church in Co Waterford.

The incident occurred during the recitation of the rosary before 10am Mass at Holy Cross Church in Summerhill.

The woman was in the main body of the church when she was attacked. She was taken to University Hospital Waterford with serious injuries.

A man in his 30s was arrested at a nearby house and a knife was seized by gardaí.

He is being held at a garda station in Co Waterford.

Parish priest Fr Richard O'Halloran said in a statement: "The Diocese of Waterford & Lismore said it is "deeply shocked by a violent incident which occurred this morning during Mass at Holy Cross Church, Tramore. Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured parishioner, and we pray for her full and speedy recovery."

The priest praised the "courage and presence of mind shown by the parishioners who assisted during this frightening incident".

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who was in the Summerhill area between 9.15am and 10.15am and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) to contact Tramore Garda Station on 051 391620, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
