@TheBr1ghtsid3 I think we are on the same side. My original point was that article 17 is a thing but it is improbable that players will actually exercise it.
For all those article 17 scaremongers out there we know that Real Madrid are a smart club when it comes to transfers. So why did they pay £52m for him when his PSR book value is around £20m ? Surely they would have advised him to invoke article 17 to buy him for less money 🤷🏾♂️
@TheBr1ghtsid3 ⚠️ Protected period may not reset when:
The “extension” is automatic or unilateral, for example:
A club-only option to extend
An extension triggered by appearances or performance clauses without player consent at the time
The contract is merely amended (e.g. salary change)
Why do attention seekers attribute opinions to former players to legitimise their own views, and why do audiences so readily accept that these comments truly come from an ex‑player?
Cucurella and Enzo were always destined to leave after we failed to qualify for CL but this has nothing to do with article 17 as some on here would have you believe
@bobbyfairview@CFCJacob90 What is clear in your head. Give me concrete evidence that he notified them using article 17. No high profile player has used article 17 to get out of a contract this is a fact
@bobbyfairview As one of the bright sparks you are referring to is me, my point still stands. Nobody was saying that he wouldn’t be sold my point was that he would not be sold on the cheap. His book value is £20m and we are selling him for £51m. This has nothing to do with article 17
