@DasoComputer has raised $750k pre seed from @neo
We've built a computer that replaces brainrot with creative tools and personalized learning for kids ages 6-12.
@gracewangdesign this is beautiful! we're building a computer for kids at Daso and would love to explore something like this. my dms are open if you're curious!
Not a crazy call. Most AI products in front of kids today are built for engagement, not for the kid.
The burden of proof is on builders.
We have to show, thoroughly, that what we ship makes kids more capable. Until we do, schools are right to be skeptical.
BREAKING: New York City to ban elementary & middle school students from using AI, while also prohibiting teachers from using AI to grade assignments.
AI is quietly making the most-used algorithms on earth better: social media feeds.
The thing you’re scrolling right now.
There’s no benchmark for this. No launch post. You’ll just notice it’s harder to put your phone down.
I don’t want to live in a world where my parents and friends get captured by this.
That’s why I’m building @DasoComputer
The world is changing at a rapid pace.
The next generation needs to be prepared for that pace.
Forward-thinking parents aren’t waiting for the system to catch up.
They’re taking preparation into their own hands.
@DasoComputer will be the computer that prepares and supports a family into the singularity.
I literally can’t believe what I just watched
Michigan is ranked 44th in 4th grade reading nationally and only 38% of 3rd graders are proficient in reading
So lawmakers passed a new law. Now in schools students will be taught to sound out words…. This had been moved away from and instead students were being told to just use a different word if they didn’t know how to pronounce the word they were trying to read
I can’t believe this is how low we’ve sunk as a country……
Teacher in Michigan explains how they have been teaching. “So if the sentence was, "We are meeting after school," and a student got to the word ‘meeting’ and they didn't know how to read the word ‘meeting,’ I might have said, "Use the words that you do know.”
Whoever has done this to our education system needs to be locked up. This is clearly intentionally destroying our kids education
Travel is often when a kid first gets a screen. Notice what the dad did: he didn’t just block, he chose. Most parents don’t have the time or the tools for that. @DasoComputer is the choosing already done, built around making things instead of watching them.
8yo child on the plane sitting next to me played on her iPad the whole time, but her dad restricted her iPad apps to word games and family photos. She was spelling 4 letter words and repeatedly watching a video of her baby cousin
@itskikidanger@coldhealing This is so impressive! I’m building a computer for kids @DasoComputer and the curation part is exactly what we’re trying to help parents with. Would love to hear more about your workflow if you’re open to it!
