@AndresSolomon2@Hpi48@SecWar@VP This is a bot that’s tasked with trying to increase interest in reducing military service-member compensation. Block and bypass.
@RunIt1x@PatrickHeizer Since you don’t understand the difference between military service and just any other job there is no point in continuing this conversation.
@JMShineman@ShaneMGries No it isn’t. There are more officers than ships to drive, planes to fly, and SEAL Plt’s to lead. Your entire assessment is based on a bunk assumption that it takes away from operational positions. Multiple admirals and generals had teaching tours at USNA earlier in their career.
@JMShineman@ShaneMGries You’re part of the old head ass generation of military officers who still believe teaching/academic/non-key billet choices are career killers. News flash, in 2026 they’re not. There is no trade-off, there are more officers than leadership positions or aircraft to fly.
@JMShineman@ShaneMGries No fucking shit it doesn’t. That’s not the argument I made. Every aero instructor at USNA has an MS+, every PMP has a PhD. Now tell me how many non-military civilian Aero PhD’s are also pilots with multiple combat missions? FFS, even Eugene Fluckey was a Dept Chair at USNA.
@JMShineman@ShaneMGries Guess what the military also has a decent number of? Military teachers and professors… go take a trip to the Naval Academy, it’s obvious you’re not a thoroughbred Naval Aviator.
@DroidAgent@clownmojo@sentdefender Oh yeah… it’s hard to invade a country when you’re already tapping into your SPR and know that the second you trigger conflict that nobody will be providing you an ounce of new oil.
🥺
@DroidAgent@clownmojo@sentdefender Fox (Israeli) News can also go fuck themselves. These views are my own. Go do some basic fucking analysis like I did. Taiwan could successfully defend against a Chinese invasion by themselves. Each day that passes they just get more difficult to invade. Good luck!
@MMacholz83279@Scott_Wiener This literally has nothing to do with separation of church and state. You do know the Chaplain Corps has existed for decades, right?
@clownmojo@sentdefender Let’s add things up:
-8% oil from VEN
-20% oil from SOH
-50% oil from Russian imports
Total: ~78% of China’s oil imports cut off
China: we’re saving the world economy and CHOOSING to use our strategic petroleum reserves…
Can’t start an invasion under those conditions 🤣
@SicSemprTyrnns@uconsent@ShaneMGries Stabilization would look something like this:
-teaching tour as an O3 w/ a MS
-return to the fleet
-teaching tour as an O4/O5 but also acting as a course coordinator/department chair w/ a MS/PhD
-return to fleet
-teaching tour as an O6 but also acting as a school chair/dean
Boom
@SicSemprTyrnns@ShaneMGries You literally don’t know what you’re talking about. The service academies already do this, they park O4-O6 at academies as either Permanent Military Instructors (MS) or Permanent Military Professors (PMP). Even that system sucks. There needs to be relevant fleet experience too.
@JMShineman@ShaneMGries It’s not, but nobody is saying that’s all they WOULD need. There are also officers with PhD’s in Engineering… just not enough at the current time to fill all of these positions. Regardless, Officers are much more naturally inclined to be great instructors and teachers.
@ShaneMGries They are indeed plenty of Officers with Master’s in Engineering, but certainly not in the majority of military Officers with Master’s. A Master’s in Military Studies is a bullshit degree conferred by War Colleges to provide participation trophies and inflate resumés.
@ShaneMGries Most have several bullshit policy/military studies MS degrees. The difficult ones to source are the academically rigorous studies, i.e. STEM.
