@allworknosleep Hi! This is my store! The very talented @helloimadam did this for us and maybe he can answer this question best. But I do know that he went for a vintage Sears magazine vibe since a staple and fancy grocery was a common name for a general store dating back to the 1800s
Wolverine is coming back in a self deprecating, fourth-wall-breaking, time-traveling, rule-breaking, meta comic book movie that exists in a universe where its main character went back in time and shot the actor who plays him, but oh no the continuity of Logan 🤷♂️
I worked as script reader at a management company when this screenplay was making the rounds. Back then I believe Natalie Portman and Jim Sturgess were in talks to star and the consensus among leadership was this script was the best of the best with a mind-blowing “twist” haha
I just described both movies. TLW has issues - particularly with Ian Malcolm who, unlike Ripley, is a side character. Often a comedic foil with nothing to learn. He literally says in the first #JurassicPark “God I hate being right all the time.” And it’s more of the same in TLW.
The Lost World is to the Jurassic Park franchise what Aliens is to the Alien franchise. I know, I know, but hear me out. They both succeed in their ambitions to be bigger, meaner, scarier, somewhat sillier sequel & have higher body counts. Plus their plots are very similar…
A lot of men with guns blaze into uncharted territory despite warnings from survivor of first film that they are outmatched. Survivor is proven right. It is now run/fight or die while protecting a girl from monsters, of which there are significantly more of than the previous film
I’m just thinkin’ out loud here @POTUS but if your ratings are sunk, why not just say screw it and at least try to do everything within your power to ban AR-15s and cancel student loan debt and secure women the right to choose 🤷♂️
Amid a rolling series of calamities and sinking approval ratings, President Biden’s feeling lately is that he just can’t catch a break — and that angst is rippling through his party. https://t.co/EwHy6kKQWs
the harder they fall is a good example of this. A good movie that could have been great if we’d known early on the hero & villain were brothers. The accountant is also guilty of this hidden brother twist. character work & tension is always greater than a 3rd act reveal
Almost every time I watch a movie that keeps it’s premise ambiguous until a third act reveal, it almost always strikes me that the story would be far more interesting if it just laid out the conceit from the get go.
If we’re really a free society, then women should have the right to choose to have an abortion. That’s the trade we’d make. That’s just the brutal truth bud. No good denying it.
We are a free society. We can have guns. So these tragedies are going to happen. It’s horrible. But it’s the trade we make. That’s just the brutal truth. It’s no good denying it.

I used to drink coffee all day, hardly exercised, stayed up late, had fitful sleep. Recently, I committed to going to bed at the same time every night, cut back on caffeine, alcohol, and screen time, and I feel better at 34 than I did at 24. I can confidently say sleep works 👇
