It trading, the process is what you are really after. Sometimes we mistake the process for the amount of money riding on the trade, but that’s a misconception.
It does not work the way you describe it, let’s say you are a quant/algo trader and you see the market do something unexpected, you have an idea how to profit from it but you have to back test it and try a few different variations to see which one works, all of this has to be done in the next hour (probably 100k lines of code), use the ai agents to do all the dirty slop work while you focus on your real work. Can I go in and manually type the code and make sure it’s perfect? Sure.
@stefabrudan If you have a big idea you need to get off your balls, Claude. Cursor/Composer to build out a working version quickly from the plans, then come in with Codex to sweep and actually make everything work. You would need to be on $200/max plans on everything to actually do anything.
Playing with $SPY puts, I usually don’t do puts so I was willing to bet $70. I think I should of went $700, but it’s not about the amount, it’s enjoying the process of building a good trade.
Cursor is a different animal than codex, I got both $200 plans. Codex is almost too careful, it’s hard to really develop with it, but fantastic for resolving bugs. I have it on auto loop checking logs for errors and applying fixes. Cursor is really Composer2.5, it’s one of the best tools to develop quickly, you also got Opus4.8 in there for planning and doing surgical develops. You can also do the surgical edits with codex..
@big_duca Im paying for Cursor, Codex, Windsurf $200 a pop. I got banned from Claude for no reason even though they sent me a re-instatement email but still can’t login. Why would you want to stop paying?
Anytime that happens in the future you start by having the AI model document the feature add on into an md doc. Then have another model sign off on it or patch any gaps, and keep looping between several models (it might take awhile if you have a large codebase). The models will talk crap on each other until there is not much to fix and they debate something like font colour. You should have all of your code backed up, and run implementation once the plan is complete.
If you could make money with charts alone… The reality is ww2 was nothing, we are at ww3 with multiple genocides and no one cares, people don’t even care about nuclear war. Dot com was more comparable to alt-coin runs than the AI takeover. I think you could kind of compare AI emergence to the birth of Jesus, but AI is real.
@rezoundous Codex GPT-5.5: bug fixer
Claude Opus 4.8: Architecture
Composer: builder
Skip the beer bank, all three have to be at max $200 monthly plans or you are wasting your money.
