@paulg I don't give much credit to a politician's intelligence, but I'm sure they already know the net result would be negative.

This kind of proposals are not to collect more taxes, or to improve citizen's lives. It's just virtue signaling: "WE taxed the rich".

@levelsio my brother works as a VFX artist. I've been telling him to use AI to automate scripts but he never listened.

Last week I showed him how good Opus 5.5 was and he said he'd give it a try.

One hour later he messaged me and was absolutely mind blown with everything he automated.

@nico_jeannen @libertarien_ The amount of taxes are not great, but the worst part is you'll be treated as a criminal.

You'll be fined regularly, and then you have to proof that you did everything according to law. Sometimes waste hours to avoid a 100€ fine.

You're treated like the enemy.

Yo he escrito claramente que "hay veces", por lo que distinto a "todo", y que está dentro del contexto que el que da la orden es tu padre, que quiere lo mejor para tí, que es distinto al "más fuerte".

@Rubo_89 @EduBarreche Si. También es propio de cualquier ciudadano sometido a una orden judicial, o actuando de acuerdo a leyes que no puede cambiar.

También es la única opción aceptable en una situación puntual de peligro, o cuando al niño le falta información (porque no tiene o no puede entender).

Hay veces que tienen que obedecer sin cuestionar, y otras que tienen que entender en vez de obedecer a ciegas.

La línea no siempre está muy clara.

@Gonzohall @levelsio I agree with Pieter's take about Portugal. I live here and I love it, but with a child it's almost impossible to not deal with the public system. Then you see how things you assumed would work absolutely don't. Not low, zero.

And the private sector is about as dysfunctional tbh.

@peduarte I'm actually building a workout app and the MCP is definitely high on the priority list.

It's more timer based, like functional fitness (CrossFit or HYROX) type of workout, so not really the same niche, but same user needs. Good to see it would add value to users.

what's up with text inside image generation?

am i the only one who sees those light/dark dots around the text? it's very annoying

first image has some image processing to make the dots easier to be seen, second image is the original.

To be honest it's sad to see an opportunity like this completely wasted. Portugal has all the ingredients for success, but it's like they're actively trying to avoid it.

The post-NHR Portugal is not a very good deal.

I bet over 90% of foreigners with NHR will leave Portugal within the first year of the NHR expiring.

The worst part is that they won't do it to save taxes.

The reason is that PT has superficially great quality of life. What you experience is great, and assume what you don't (police, healthcare, etc) is at least functional.

But one day you need an appointment with a GP, or a repair at home, etc, and then you see the real Portugal.
